Ethics & Disclosures

Transparency is essential to Stadia’s credibility.

Our reporting covers industries in which professional relationships, investments, advisory roles, sponsorships and event partnerships are common. This policy explains how we identify and manage those interests.

Historical relationship with Stadia Ventures

This publication is independently owned and operated by Jean-Blaise Conne SARL.

It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by or a legal successor to the former or current Stadia Ventures investment and accelerator business. Stadia Ventures and its former owners, investors and employees have no ownership interest in the publication, provide no funding and exercise no editorial or commercial control over its activities.

The publication uses the stadiaventures.com domain as an independent editorial platform focused on esports, betting, technology and regulation. References to the historical activities, portfolio, personnel or network of Stadia Ventures are provided for context only and do not imply an ongoing relationship.

No former Stadia Ventures employee, adviser, mentor, investor or portfolio company is represented as being associated with the publication unless that relationship has been confirmed directly and disclosed accurately.

Investments and financial interests

Writers, editors and owners must disclose material investments or financial interests connected to the subject of their work.

When Stadia’s owner, a writer or a close affiliate holds a relevant financial interest, the article will include a disclosure such as:

Disclosure: [NAME OR ENTITY] has a financial interest in [COMPANY]. This relationship did not provide approval or control over this article.

A writer should not cover a company when the financial conflict is so substantial that a disclosure would not adequately protect editorial independence.

Employment and advisory relationships

Current or recent employment, board positions, consultancy work and advisory roles must be declared to the editor before an assignment is accepted.

Relevant relationships will be disclosed in the article or author biography.

Former Stadia Ventures employees, mentors, investors and portfolio founders may contribute to Stadia, but their historical relationship must be described accurately.

Betting interests

Stadia covers betting companies, suppliers, data providers and regulators.

Editorial staff must not use confidential information obtained through their work to place bets or facilitate betting by another person.

Writers covering a betting market or company must disclose any relevant employment, consultancy, affiliate, investment or other commercial relationship.

Stadia’s journalism is informational and does not constitute betting advice.

Advertising and sponsorship

Advertising and sponsorship must be visually distinguishable from independent editorial content.

Commercially supported material will be labelled clearly using terms such as:

  • Sponsored
  • Partner Content
  • Paid Partnership

Labels must appear before a reader engages with the content, not only at the bottom of the page.

Commercial partners cannot purchase positive coverage or suppress accurate, newsworthy reporting.

Affiliate links

Some links may generate commission for Stadia. Such links will be identified clearly. Commercial compensation does not determine editorial conclusions, rankings or recommendations.

Gifts, travel and hospitality

Writers should not accept gifts or hospitality that could reasonably be understood as influencing coverage.

When travel or event access is paid for by an outside organisation, that support will be disclosed if it is relevant to the resulting coverage.

Acceptance of travel or access does not provide the sponsor with editorial approval.

Confidential information

Stadia protects confidential sources and unpublished materials using reasonable editorial and technical safeguards.

Confidential information obtained through reporting must not be used for personal financial advantage, betting, investment or disclosure to unauthorised parties.

Article-level disclosures

A disclosure will be placed within an article whenever a reasonable reader would consider the relationship relevant to judging the work.

Questions concerning a disclosure may be submitted through our Contact page.
